The Wild Within: Cold Water, Clarity and Coming Back to Yourself 12.30-1.30
The Wild Within: Cold Water, Clarity and Coming Back to Yourself
As part of Leeds Wellbeing Week, you’re invited into a different kind of conversation which will now take place at 11:30 on Sunday 7 June at The Attic, Sheaf Street as part of Leeds Wellbeing Week festival.
One about what happens when life becomes so busy, noisy and demanding that we lose connection with ourselves.
Most of us spend our days solving problems, meeting expectations and moving from one responsibility to the next. We become so focused on what needs doing that we rarely stop to notice how we are actually doing.
Over time, that takes its toll.
We feel overwhelmed, distracted and stuck in our heads. We lose clarity. We lose perspective. We lose touch with the part of ourselves that knows what we really need.
This session explores why so many people are turning to cold water, not as a trend or a challenge, but as a way of creating space.
Space to think.
Space to breathe.
Space to reconnect.
We will explore the science behind cold water and why it can have such a powerful impact on stress, mood, resilience and nervous system regulation.
More importantly, we will explore why experiences like cold water can help us feel calmer, clearer and more present in our everyday lives.
This will be practical, accessible and relevant whether you are completely new to cold water or already curious about its benefits.
You will also be guided through a gentle experiential exercise using breathwork, sensory cold water exposure and nervous system regulation techniques, allowing you to safely experience some of the shift for yourself.
No ice baths.
No pressure.
No need to prove anything.
Just an opportunity to pause, reconnect and discover why so many people describe cold water as a way of coming home to themselves.
The event is free to attend as part of Leeds Wellbeing Week, hosted at the Royal Armouries.
