For Connect Yorkshire’s June Masterclass, which is taking place during Leeds Wellbeing Week, Connect Yorkshire has teamed up with its member Montrose Health Group, to discuss entrepreneurship and burnout.

There is growing recognition of the role neurodiversity plays in entrepreneurship and leadership. Many founders and senior executives identify with neurodivergent traits, particularly those associated with ADHD and autism, which can contribute to strengths such as creativity, innovation and strategic thinking. However, the demands of entrepreneurship — long hours, constant decision-making and sustained pressure — can also increase the risk of burnout. Clinical experience, combined with lived experience, suggests there is a notable overlap between neurodivergence and entrepreneurial drive, often leading to burnout.

This event will explore the links between neurodivergence, entrepreneurship and burnout, raising awareness of both the strengths and challenges associated with neurodivergent leadership. The discussion will focus on improving understanding, recognising early signs of burnout, and supporting more sustainable ways of working for entrepreneurs and senior leaders.
